ENGINEERING Testing Support
Intec engineers work closely with clients to evaluate, characterize and certify advanced materials systems and processes. Our goal is to provide you with the most accurate understanding of your material, to help you bring your product to market faster.
Intec professional staff represent an extensive range of engineering and science backgrounds. Many of our engineers worked in design and research prior to becoming test engineers. With their knowledge as test requesters, these engineers can provide an understanding not available at a standard test house.
Intec test reports integrate statistically reduced data (spreadsheet and/or database), digital photography, video, and sound. Detailed documentation is provided to allow complete reproduction of the test.
Intec testing support includes:
Test Plan Creation (Materials & Structural Testing) - As a test requester, you may have engineering requirements that fall outside your normal area of expertise. Intec engineers can help you design test programs, choose the proper specimens, develop a data base for easy access to results, analyze your test results and apply those results to a successful part design. Once the tests have been run, your project engineer will work with you to transfer your data electronically, if you wish, to eliminate the redundant data entry task for your company.
Statistical Data Reduction "DOE" - A statistically designed test emphasizes planning before the test is run. Objectives are clearly outlined. The data analysis is outlined before the test starts. Included are the assumed model type and model terms to be included.
(FAA) Certification - Intec engineers have extensive experience with FAA certification programs, with the knowledge and resources to guide you through FAA certification from start to finish. From designing test and qualification plans, to providing on-site FAA DER and DAR witnesses, Intec helps clients achieve certification quickly and at lower costs.
FAA witnessing (DER & DAR Monitoring) - Intec has on-site FAA monitors to approve test plans (DER - Designated Engineering Representatives) and witness testing (DAR - Designated Airworthiness Representative), saving you time and money.
Composite Structural Analysis - A multidisciplinary approach to composite structural analysis gives Intec the edge in both capability and price. Intec's testing and materials background enhances the structural analysis techniques and tools that are required to analyze complex composite structures. Specific experience include stiffness, thermal effects, stability, durability, damage tolerance, fatigue and fracture as well as overall system integration. Our engineers use state-of-the-art analytical tools, including finite element modeling. Our systems can import/export to most of the major modelers (NASTRAN, ANSYS, PATRAN, CATIA, etc.).
Fixture Design and Analysis - Structural Analysis of Fixturing, Load Introduction and Reaction.
- Grips
- Structural analysis of the part in the areas of load introduction and reaction, to properly simulate real world loadings and constraints. Results could be to modify the fixture design of sizing.
- Structural analysis of fixture, including load floor, strong back introduction and reactions. Including deflections, yield, fatigue issues and safety.
